My baby’s first love letter

Diya came to me very excited today morning and showed me this letter from her new boy friend, Nirvan.

He made so many lovely little hearts, he made a flower which seems to have heart shaped flowers and a strange flying saucer in the middle, and wrote my girl’s name twice. I was torn between saying, “awww, so cute”, to feeling a wee bit jealous, to feeling very protective, to feeling a bit sad that my little princess is growing up. Sighs, i am in for some serious trouble, aint I?

An interesting loo

While at a dinner, I had to pop into the loo and found something very interesting and old fashioned. I have seen similar structures in Claridges as well.

But the basic idea is that you have an inclined glass wall and provided your aim is good, it will avoid the tinkle from sprinkling on your shoes. Neat, eh? Check it out. (Click on the photo to see a bigger photo)

Nice no? its good to see people thinking stuff through, good design elements there.

And then, here's a lady getting quite excited with, well, not sure what, but dont care...I suppose a lovely young lady standing in front of a waterfall is supposed to give you, just what exactly?

A winter view of Gurgaon

While waiting for a candidate to come into my office in Gurgaon, India, for an interview, I happened to look outside and dug out the trusty little camera and snapped off some pictures.

Photobucket

You never see that turquoise colour painted on houses anywhere else, do you? Well, have seen that in Manila as well, but fascinating colour :)

A Tale of 2 Rivers

Instead of a tale of 2 cities, this is a photo essay on two rivers in one city. The first is obviously the Thames river. I took these photo's from our office floor in the evening, the break in the clouds was just perfect. One of the advantages of being up in the sky is that you get some fascinating views over the East End of London.

Looking east down towards the Thames Barrier (click on the photo to get a much bigger resolution)

Photobucket

Here, on this one you can see the cloud and glowering skies much more. I could have sat there and watched the formations all day long, but poxy work cuts into day dreaming..., closest I can come to "sitting on a dock all day, watching the tides roll away...".

Photobucket

Peering south, you can see Greenwich observatory but generally the thick cloud cover from the east is slowly overpowering the more established and clear cloud cover in the west. The river looks gray but calm.

Photobucket

Some time later, now looking east, the clouds have passed but the river is still gray and cold...

Photobucket

But here's the other river, the river of traffic, which pours people into the city in the morning and then pours people out in the evening. Also looking gray and cold.

Photobucket

Scanning to the north, there are more traffic river tributaries. The clouds have broken up, but yes, its a gray miserable day in London town.

Sun on a foggy day

A series of photographs which I took from the office, it was a foggy cloudy day and the sun was struggling to peek through.

Might be best to see it on a slide show.

Smoking!!!!

It was mid morning and I just happened to look up to see a rather interesting sight. The building opposite ours is Citi's main tower and it has the heating plants on the top of the building. It was also a very cold day and the steam was rising through the sun beams. See how the images turned out.

Here's one on portrait orientation.

The landscape one has come out better, I guess.
