April 2012: The Beach at Beachy Head

Final stop, we decided to stop at the National Trust place for a cuppa tea and an amble around the beach

Photobucket

High Tide and Low Tide. Pretty important.

Photobucket

Looking right

Photobucket

Looking left

Photobucket

Looking down

Photobucket

Looking straight

Photobucket

Heading over to the staircase

Photobucket

Looking back at the houses, these do not have much time to go before they also join the great beach in the sky.

Photobucket

The clouds make for an interesting counterpoint.

I walk down

Photobucket

Photobucket

The chalk base is slowly getting worn away, while the quartz pieces are slowly getting converted into pebbles.

Photobucket

The awesome cliffs

Photobucket

Somebody has been playing with the rocks

Photobucket

Photobucket

The Channels

Photobucket

A sand fan

Photobucket

A sea weed fan

Photobucket

Another view of the cliffs

Photobucket

Photobucket

I move in closer

Photobucket

Pretty awesome

Photobucket

The quartz pieces are stuck inside the chalk in layers

Photobucket

A cross on the beach. Presumably this is where somebody committed suicide?

Photobucket

They are really awe inspiring

Photobucket

Moss on the rocks

Photobucket

A sea nest and these are the eggs

Photobucket

Stark landscapes

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Now you can see how tall these cliffs are

Photobucket

Sand patterns..

Photobucket

The famous cliffs

Photobucket

Photobucket

Lovely day

Photobucket

Katie destroying the cliff. I tell you, these young girls..

Photobucket

Dogs paddling in the sea

Photobucket

An intrepid cameraman..

Photobucket

Photobucket

We are heading back up

Photobucket

And look down to see a father and son team off to do a spot of sea canoeing. Lovely day out
