The first day in Devon, we went to see Clovelly Village. Its an enchanting place as the photographs will show. Here is the slideshow.
We kept on going through these lovely covered tree tunnels. 
These are the donkeys which are hired out for rides. Very cute. 
There you go, high up on the cliffs and you have to go down to the sea. That cross in front is a war memorial. I like this idea, local brave soldiers remembered locally.

The cobbled path down. This Clovelly village belongs to a single estate. It descends 400 feet down to the sea level. 
The village is lined with beautifully maintained houses with lovely little flowering gardens. 
The main (and only) street actually. Its vehicle free so everything is walking only. 
Moving down about the mid level, now about 200 feet down. 
By this time, Ma and Baba were feeling the pressure, so we left them at a bench while we went down this steep road.

Since vehicles are not allowed, everything has to be brought up and down by using these sledges. It must be horrendous!
After a great fish and chips meal, we climbed back up to the top and by this time, the moon was up.

If you try to listen carefully, you can hear the hiss of the shingles moving around with the wave action, quite windy as well.
It is a beautiful little village, but remember, its great to visit but not to live in. Imagine humping your body up and down that steep cobbled path. Not good.
