April 2014: A most unique and wonderful Lycurgus Cup

This is the famous Lycurgus Cup, made of a special type of glass which shows a different colour depending upon whether or not light is passing through, it shows red when its lit from behind and green when lit from front.

I wasnt able to see the green tinge but I suppose that's because of the lighting, but is is the only complete Roman Glass object in existence dating to 4th century AD.

the work undertaken to create this glass cup is prodigious. Completely mindboggling.
