Aug 2011: Planes from India and the first jet fighters at RAF Museum #4 #photography

Now we move into the other part of the hangar. As I mentioned before, not much to say about the planes themselves, here’s an excellent article on the wiki site which talks about the museum and the planes.

Some interesting planes in here. The first British Jet Fighter, Meteor, is a very cute plane. Absolutely love it. Its so cute, you almost want to hug it and cuddle it. The Lightning is another very impressive fighter with a great history behind it. I also see the De Havilland Bomber here, which had been gifted by the Nizam of Hyderabad in India. What an interesting linkage. Another Indian connection is the Hunter, another beautiful airplane. Did you know that this plane and its use in India actively stopped the Chinese from bombing India in 1962? These planes were used in the 1965 and in the 1971 wars in India.
